About Us:
ˇ@
The core business of NANOTEK Instruments, Inc., is research, development, manufacture, sales and service of nano materials and processing technologies (including nano materials and bio-materials), energy storage and conversion technologies (including fuel cell systems, batteries, and solar energy materials), and rapid prototyping/tooling/manufacturing technologies. Established in 1997 as a C corporation, NANOTEK currently has a portfolio of more than 80 US patents that are pending or issued. Most of these technologies are available for licensing.
Our researchers have been innovative and inventive. As an example, the results of our earlier NASA STTR research have brought us the honor of being a recipient of the 2003 NASA Tech Brief Technology Award. This STTR project (ˇ§Rapid Prototyping and Fabrication of Advanced Fiber Compositesˇ¨ Phase I, 09/97 - 08/98; Phase II, 01/99 - 05/2001; NASA Johnson Space Center) has led to the development of a continuous fiber composite-based layer manufacturing technology (CLM), a new preform fabrication method, and several innovative rapid prototyping and rapid tooling methods. The CLM technology enables rapid manufacturing of high-strength composite-based complex components directly from a computer-aided design (CAD). A more recent work on carbon nanotube composites led to another prestigious 2006 NASA Space Act Award.
Our Vision:
An international leader in the research, development, and commercialization of low-cost nano materials, high-performance fuel cells, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
